Welding positioners are designed to orient the workpiece to the optimum positioner for the operator or weld head and then provide either stability or rotation for the weld. Positioners are available in capacities from 100kg to 200 metric tons. Configurations vary and include fixed base, manually adjustable, and hydraulic units. Slotted tables allow for mounting parts, fixtures, or workholding devices such as Gripper Chucks.
